Lots of exiting news. We got lots of top entries for the logo comp. Thanx to everyone who sent me their designs. Entries will be judged by the Mayfield Youth committee at our next meeting held on November 7th.
We are also bringing Graff workshops to Mayfield. They will be held at Maycare in conjunction with The loft Youth Venue. You will need to become a Loft member to participate and that will set you back about $16. This program kicks of at the Maycare Office located on the corner Hanbury and Maitland road on Friday the 27th of october. An for all you Sk8 rats im looking at getting another comp together by mid December.

Kicking off The Mayfield Youth Website Comp. Here's your details...... Dont forget entries close Sep 25...
Mayfield youth are going online and we need you to design a Logo that can be used on your website. The winning logo will also be used to promote Mayfield's young people at events both in Mayfield and the Newcastle area. The logo designer will receive $150 thanks to Mayfield Mainstreet Committee and 12 months free web hosting (50mb) thanks to Innovative computer solutions.
Your entry must contain the words Mayfield Youth. The rest is limited to your imagination. Any style, Medium or imagery that you think is best associated with Mayfield Youth and our surroundings can be used.
This competition is open to anyone living in the Mayfield area who is under the age of 25. All entries must be saved in a jpeg format and emailed to the16thletter@hotmail.com or you can save your entry onto a disk and post it to P.O box 235 Mayfield N.S.W 2304. All entries must be in no later than September 25 2006.

10:30am Demo's from Skaters. ( Half an Hour)
Old School team, Hunter Valley Skate team, Newcastle Skate Team

11:00am Official Proceadings. (half an hour)

speeches: Lord Mayor, John Bartlet,

Machismo group, community members.

11:30pm competition start.

-5 minute warm up for under 10's male and female.

under 10's will have 4 skaters on the park at a time.

-5 minute warm up for under 13's male and female.

under 13's will have 4 skaters on the park at a time.

-5 minute warm up for under 16's male and female.

under 16's will have 3 skaters on the park at a time.

-5 minute warm up for under 18's male and female.

under 18's will have 3 skaters on the park at a time.

-5 minute warm up for opens male and female.

open will have 3 skaters on the park at a time.

the winner of each age division will progress to a

final round where a winner will be selected.

approx 3:00pm awards ceremony (half an hour)

- Hunter valley skate team. ( right after official opening )
- Oldskool crew demo ( After 16’s and before open comp run) ?

Freeskate Comp age groups
( Five min warm up before runs.)
- 10’s an under run 4 skaters at a time
- 13’s an under run 4 skaters at a time
- 16’s an under run 3 skaters at a time
- open run 3 skaters at a time
- over 30’s run 3 skaters at a time

There will be no draws and anyone with equal scores will fight to the death.

we'd also like to run a best trick comp for each age group either on a nominated spot or open all the park. I’ve been talking to element, boom, globe, HVS, kwala so far an everyones on side. Also got a bit of cash money to throw at the opens prize money as well…… An we got some pretty gals to hold up your score cards too.. I aint gettn paid for nothing……

So we got team Hvs doin a demo, we got oldskool sk8ters doin a run hopefully. well be breakin the comp into 4 age groups 10' an under, 13's an under, 16's an under an 16s up.... We'll be havn a all ages trick comp...

Mayfield Skate Park agenda

Firstly thanks to all who turned up to the meeting to discuss ideas for the park and its future. All the ideas put forward can be found below. This coming Saturday the 13th we will be having another meeting at HVS to build on ideas and start to work out who wants to do what.
So far the Opening is set for Sat 25th June

Proposed activities include;
Comp on the day (girls, boys, all age groups,) Music, Skate Demo, Food stalls or BBQ, Product giveaways, Official ceremonies plus any other ideas you may have

Proposed additions to Webb Park

Bubbler, Better lighting, secured bins, signage for the skate park, area of flatland added to the skate park, Skate work bench, More seats and shaded areas around skate park (Western End),
